A new model of care and support for community mental health services in Enfield
Overview
Dear stakeholders of Enfield’s Mental Health system,
We are sending you this communication to ask you to complete a short survey and collect your feedback on the key priorities for developing a new model of care and support for community mental health services in Enfield. You can view/download the slide deck below which will help explain the proposals.
The key headlines are also summarised below for your ease of reference.
The NHS Long Term Plan set out ambitions for new models of care and support for community mental health services, aligned to primary care networks, to significantly improve access, care and support for people with mental health needs. A new community framework for mental health for adults and older adults was published by NHSE with a commitment to funding new models of care.
We are keen to ensure that stakeholders across the system help shape and develop the new core North Central London model of which Enfield is a part. A steering group with membership from across the system has been established to support this, however, we believe that we will need to engage our communities regularly in order to develop a new model of care that meets the needs for our borough’s population. This work is intended to see a step change in service delivery and integration in mental health services.
Please provide feedback by 12:00 noon on Thursday 5th November.
We do appreciate that the deadline for submitting feedback is very short. This is the first stage of engagement and there will be further opportunities to engage with our community to develop the new model as we progress through the development cycle.
Please do not hesitate to contact Jon Robson if you have any queries: jon.robson1@nhs.net.
Many thanks
Peppa Aubyn, Mental Health lead for NCL CCG Enfield Directorate and Assistant Director of Commissioning
