NCL CCG Staff Survey on Office Working Arrangements

Closed 28 Aug 2020

Opened 5 Aug 2020

Overview

The government advice remains that everyone should work from home, unless they cannot work from home.

Currently the majority of our staff are continuing to work from home, with only a small number of staff working from our offices. We expect this to continue to be the case throughout August and into September, when there will be a further review by the Executive Management Team.

Whilst the advice remains to work from home wherever possible we are now looking at exceptions where some staff may need to work from a CCG site. In turn, it is important we develop detailed health and safety guidance and ensure that each CCG site is fully compliant with government advice.

To inform this important planning work, we would like to ask everybody to complete a short survey by Wednesday 19 August.

Your feedback will help us understand how many staff need to work from a CCG site over the next few months. In parallel, we are also speaking with Executive Directors to understand if there are any business or service needs that require any particular roles or teams to work from a CCG site.

HR and the Senior Head of Corporate Services will access survey responses. Where an individual has indicated they need to return to a CCG office, this information will be shared with their respective Director and line manager to discuss return to work arrangements and ensure appropriate support is in place prior to returning to work to an office site. If you have any questions about this please speak to your line manager or email nclccg.communications@nhs.net. If you have a specific HR query or confidential question, please contact the HR team: islccg.nclworkforce@nhs.net.

We would like to reassure staff that may need to return to the office that prior to returning, we will:

  • review their demographic risk assessment outcomes and, through line managers, initiate appropriate occupational health referrals and any reasonable adjustments as required
  • provide detailed information on the steps in place to ensure CCG offices fully adhere to Covid-19 health and safety guidance
  • provide an overview of health and safety requirements for staff to ensure they adhere to necessary safe working arrangements at all times
  • determine working patterns to avoid peak travel times.

We will keep everyone updated on Executive Management Team conversations regarding office working arrangements following the review in September, including any updates to national guidance.

Many thanks for taking the time to complete the survey.

Kind regards

Ian Porter
